Overview

This trip specifically takes you to Bwindi impenetrable national park. The park is located in Southwestern Uganda shelteringnearly half of the world’s total population of the remaining mountain gorillas. It’s one of the few places in the world where visitors get to see these endangered animals in the wild.

Besides these gentle giants, Bwindi is also home to more than 120 mammal species, 348 bird species and 202 species of butterflies plus over 200 tree and 100 fern species.
This 3 day gorilla safari exposes you to chances of up close encounters with the beautiful giants of the jungle, an experience that is so unforgettable.

Day 1
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

In the morning after breakfast, begin the eight hour journey to Bwindi which is also an experience of its own. Stop at the equator for the water experience and photos, see how water swirls in opposite directions in the different hemispheres of the world.

Then proceed to in Mbarara and make another stop at Igongo Cultural center for lunch. From here, continue enjoying a comfortable drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park filled with beautiful views of the Kasese hills, Mountain Rwenzori, and the stunning landscapes tinted with green vegetation.

Day 2
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest

Have an early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a simple briefing from the head ranger guide about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. You will be divided into groups of eight, the maximum number of people to visit a gorilla family per day.

Start the hunt for one of the eleven gorilla groups in Bwindi, an experience so awesome that cannot be easily forgotten. Walking through the rugged terrains of the forest and following the gorillas is a challenging activity that takes you through the thick lush with slippery terrains. Trekkers also encounter other different mammals, bird species and butterflies.

Trekking might take a day or even just one hour, it depends on the luck of trekkers and the movement of the gorillas. Later in the afternoon, have an optional cultural encounter with the Batwa people.

Day 3
Day 3: Travel Back to Kampala and Departure

Immediately after breakfast, embark on a beautifuljourney back to Kampala, have a lunch stopover and proceed to Kampala or directly to the airport to catch up with the return flight back home.
