Day 1
Day 1: Transfer from Kabale to Bwindi Forest

In the morning at 6am after an early breakfast, be picked by our experienced tour guide from the lodge in either Kisoro or Kabale. Drive straight to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park, reach the park headquarters for a simple briefing from the local tour guide and be divided in groups of eight trekkers.

Trekking starts at 7am and it takes approximately 1 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas, one group can take one hour and the other 8 hours. Trekking gorillas in Bwindi involves intermediate hikes through the thick jungles, having to make your way through the foggy slopes until you meet one of the habituated gorilla families.

Finally, encounter the gentle giant apes of the forest and spend an hour watching how they play with each other, jumping from one tree branch to another and how they conduct their daily lives.

Nothing is as thrilling as looking directly into the eyes of a silverback, a memory that won’t simply leave your mind. Take as many photos as possible provided the camera doesn’t have a flash.

In the evening, then travel back to Kisoro or Kabale towns, marking the end of a 1 Day gorilla tour in Uganda.
