Overview

The 4 days mountaineering safari in Uganda offers you a chance to hike to top of the Sipi falls, hike Mount Elgon, Visit Mabira forest among others. The safari allows you to hike the 7th highest mountain in Africa, Mountain Elgon.

The mountain has a number of 300 bird species and it lies on the border of Uganda and Kenya. Expect to sight some other wildlife and primates.

Day 1
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Mount Elgon National Park

The driver/guide picks you from the hotel and starts the journey to Mount Elgon. Have a stopover at mabira forest for a nature walk and Sezibwa falls. Have lunch in Jinja, then continue to the park. Dinner and overnight stay at Mbale Resort Hotel, Mount Elgon Hotel & Spa or Mount Elgon View Hotel.

Day 2
Day 2: Hike Sipi Falls

Have breakfast then go for a hike to sipi falls with your packed lunch. The sipi falls is a combination of 3 falls surrounded with a beautiful greenery back drop. The hike involves a visit to the community plantations and cave exploration. After the hike return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at the lodge as on day 1.

Day 3
Day 3: Hike Mountain Elgon

Have breakfast, then go for Mount Elgon hiking. The hike takes a full day therefore when leaving your hotel, remember to carry a packed lunch. The hike isn’t so strenuous though you have to be with strength in order to take the challenge. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at the same lodge as on day 2.

Day 4
Day 4: Transfer to Kampala

Have breakfast then embark on a drive to Kampala. You have a stopover at the source of the Nile in jinja. After visiting the source of the Nile, drive back to Kampala.
