Overview
3 days in Mountain Elgon national park are indeed hiking and wildlife adventure days. They take you to the mountain park for a hike to the top of Wagagai peak, home to the largest caldera in the world. The trip also furnishes chances of viewing the beautiful Sipi falls, huge coffee plantations and a walk in the famous Mbale town of the Bagishu.
The safari also passes by the source of River Nile and involves a launch cruise to the exact point where the Nile water separates from the Victoria water.

Day 1
Day 1: Source of River Nile and transfer to Mount Elgon national park.

In the morning, be picked by our professional guide to brief you about the trip and then transfer you to Jinja the adventure city of East Africa. The journey takes about one to two hours depending on the traffic jam. The journey takes you through the once biggest natural forest in Uganda; Mabira forest.

It then takes you directly to the source of the Nile and have a launch cruise to the real point where the Nile water starts its journey to Mediterranean Sea. Have lunch at the source and then proceed with the journey to Mbale, the home of Mountain Elgon National park.

Day 2
Day 2: Hiking to the top of Sipi Falls

Having had a palatable breakfast, travel to the starting point of the hike to Sipi falls on the foot hills of Mount Elgon. These are impressive waterfalls best known for abseiling adventure and beautiful sights. Hiking to the top of Sipi falls presents spectacular sights of awe-inspiring beauty of a small stream running down from an amazingly impossible height.

Also visit the nearby coffee plantations and the local farmers, the taste of the local coffee is a guarantee except to those that don’t wish. In the evening, have a walk in Mbale town and meet the local people.

Day 3
Day 3: Departure

Very early in the morning, you will have breakfast and start on the journey back to Kampala. Arrive in the evening, just in time to catch up with your departure flight or be dropped at the lodge for overnight stay.
