In Queen Elizabeth national park, visitors will have a boat cruise on Kazinga channel to encounter the wanders along the 40 km channel concentrated with school of hippos, crocodiles, buffalos, elephants, and uncountable bird species among others all lineup on the shores of Kazinga channel. Not forgetting the real adventure of the game drive which is the heart beat of queen Elizabeth national park activities. In Bwindi the undoubted and remarkable adventure that takes you close to the human relatives i.e. the mountain gorillas is the gorilla trekking that waits for every safari to this park.

Day 1
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After an early morning breakfast, embark on a transfer to Kibale forest national park via Mubende with stopover at the Nakayima spiritual tree. Meet the story teller about the Buganda culture to interpret the secrets that are hidden behind this tree.

After that brief stopover, proceed to Fort portal via the spectacular tea plantations and the beautiful Uganda countryside homesteads.

Arrive in Fort Portal at around midday, have lunch in the town and in the afternoon, continue to adventure the “Amabeera ga nyina mwiru” caves. Enjoy the traditional history about the Bachwezi people, watching the stalagmite and Stalactite rocks, the scenic landscape among other attributes of the area. After that cultural interaction, proceed to the lodge in the evening to check in, dinner and overnight stay at Kyaninga lodge, Kibale forest Camp or Rwenzori View Guest House.

Day 2
Day 2: Chimp Trekking and Bigodi wetland walk

After an early morning breakfast, head to the park’s offices for briefing on the do’s and don’ts during the chimp trekking in the park. This is an adventure that takes trekkers to encounter the chimps at a close distances.

In this experience you can encounter some other primates like the black-and-white colobus, grey-cheeked mangabey; red-tailed, L’Hoest’s and blue monkeys, and olive baboons, Bushbucks and mongooses among others.

Kibale is as well birder’s paradise with about 138 species and is best known for being home to the Great Blue Turaco.

After trekking, return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon embark on a nature walk to Bigodi wetland which is a paradise for birders with a variety of other wetland bird species and some primates can also be spotted in the swamp. Retire in the evening to the lodge for dinner and overnight as on day 1.

Day 3
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park and launch cruise

Wake up in the morning take tea/coffee and embark on a transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. Check in the lodge and have lunch, with some brief rest and in the afternoon head to the pier to embark on a launch cruise on Kazinga channel.

This adventure cruise is on a 40 kilo meter water channel that takes visitors a few meters to the variety of bird species and the water thirsty animals like hippos, crocodiles, monitor lizards and buffaloes, and sometimes elephants also come on the shores of the channel for drinking water. After the launch cruise retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge, Ihamba safari lodge or Pumba Safari cottages.

Day 4
Day 4: Morning game drive and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

Wake up early in the morning, take some breakfast and drive to park headquarters for briefing to embark on a morning game drive on the Kasenyi plains, to explore the entire park with its fauna and flora. During the game viewing adventure visitors can encounter animals like lion, elephant, leopards, Uganda kobs, waterbuck, and buffalos among others.

This drive can take 4 to 6 hours within the park and after the game drive you will retire to the lodge for breakfast. Embark on a transfer to Bwindi national park via the southern section of the queen Elizabeth national and watch out for the tree climbing lions on the fig trees as you pass via the Ishasha sector which is the sole home of the tree climbing lions.

Arrive in Bwindi impenetrable national park, check in with dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Lodge, Bwindi Haven Lodge or Buhoma community campsite

Day 5
Day 5: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Kigali

After an early morning breakfast, with drinking water and packed snacks, you will head to Bwindi national park headquarters for briefing on the do’s and the don’ts of the gorilla trekking. After that short briefing with the help of a head ranger, embark on the search for the majestic gorillas in the jungle.

The search can take about 2 to 6 hours, and after meeting the mountain gorillas, trekkers are only allowed one hour to interact with the mountain gorillas by taking photos, watching their behaviors and other activities. Retire to the lodge for lunch and embark on a transfer to Kigali. The drop off will be either at the hotel in Kigali or at the airport depending on the schedule.
