Overview

The 20 days Uganda long safari enables you to experience the pearl of Africa to the fullest. It takes you to the most isolated national park in Africa Kidepo valley national park other interesting national parks of Uganda while enjoying the adventurous activities like gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking, some hiking activities and many others.

Day 1
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

The driver/guide will pick you from the hotel and embark on a transfer to south western direction of the country to Lake Mburo national park which is about 3-4 hours’ drive from the capital city Kampala. The first stopover will be at the equator at kayabwe. The equator is a point that divides the earth into two equal parts, the north and southern spheres. After proceed to the park. Have lunch at the lodge in the park and enjoy the evening while sighting seeing the park’s landscape and the vegetation.

Day 2
Day 2: Game Walk and Boat Cruise

After having breakfast, go for a morning game walk which is commencing at rwonyo tourism center at 7am. During this activity, the guide escorts the travelers when he is armed. A wide range of wild game is explored including Giraffes, water bucks, zebras, antelopes and many others on foot. you walk in the savanna as sight see the sun rising over it hence creating a memorable experience. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, go for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. This activity will enable you view include the crocodile and many others plus birds.

Day 3
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After having a heavy breakfast, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi the second deepest lake in Africa which lies in kabale. Go through a green country side landscape of south western Uganda. Arrive at the lake in the afternoon and have lunch then spend the whole evening at the lake enjoying the magnificent landscape of the area.

Day 4
Day 4: Boat Cruise and Zip Lining

After having breakfast, go for the boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi. The boat cruise will reward you with the sight of the different islands on the lake and other surrounding. Lunch will be at the lodge and in the afternoon enjoy the high rope activity and zip lining of which you will be challenged whereby the level are a bit hard but it will reward you a great experience. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Have breakfast then start you journey to bwindi impenetrable forest national park the home of endangered mountain gorillas and this park accommodates half of the mountain gorilla population in the world and it has 12 habituated gorilla groups. You will have dinner and overnight at the park.

Day 6
Day 6: Gorilla Trekking

In the morning after having breakfast, go to the park headquarters for a briefing from the park rangers about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. Then you start the trekking in the forest, the activity involves hiking through the thick forest searching for the gorillas. And when you meet the mountain gorillas, you are allowed to stay with them for only one hour then descend to the park headquarters.After go to your lodge for refreshment and lunch. You will spend the evening at your lodge.

Day 7
Day 7: Transfer to Ishasha Sector in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up and have breakfast, then transfer to the southern part of Queen Elizabeth national park, a home for tree climbing lions in Uganda alongside other animals like elephants, buffaloes, warthogs and many antelope species. All these and many others are seen while on afternoon and evening game drive through the park. You will check in at the lodge and have lunch. You will spend your evening at the lodge.

Day 8
Day 8: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Breakfast followed by a morning game drive to search for more animals and tree lions, later transfer to another part of the park for more game viewing and fantastic boat cruise along the Kazinga channel. Today we can take an evening game drive along Mweya Peninsular, dinner and overnight at; Mweya safari lodge, Mazike game Lodge or Bush Lodge.

Day 9
Day 9: Game Drive & Boat Cruise

Have an early cup of coffee before heading to a morning game drive along the queen’s mile plus the kasenyi trail. And the game drive will enable you view wildlife like elephants, water bucks, lions, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs and many others and after the game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast plus lunch.

In the Afternoon, go for a boat cruise on kazinga channel where you will encounter buffaloes, elephants, hippos, kobs and many others. Still on this boat cruise, you will get a chance to encounter array of birds. Dinner and overnight at the lodge at Mweya Safari Lodge, Ihamba Safari Lodge or Simba Safari Camp

Day 10
Day 10: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After having breakfast, transfer to fort portal, the journey will take you through the impressive country side landscape with rural setting and local population. After having lunch, you go for a Crater Lake hiking to gain impressive views of fort portal explosion crater. After, visit the amabere ganyinamwiru caves with the magical nyakasura river falling over them forming incredible waterfall. Dinner and overnight at Primate Lodge, Kibale Forest Camp or Rwenzori view guest house

Day 11
Day 11: Chimpanzee Tracking and visiting Bigodi Wetland

Have an early breakfast then head to the park headquarters for briefing then after you will enter the forest to start the chimpanzee tracking whiling following the guide. Kibale national park is among the best primate destinations in Africa especially chimpanzee tracking. It accommodates a number of primates and other wildlife. The moment you meet the chimpanzee while tracking them, you are only give an hour to be with them. After tracking the chimpanzee, you will go back to your hotel for lunch.

In the afternoon, go for nature walk at bigodi wetland where you will get a chance to encounter a number of bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Primate Lodge, Kibale Forest Camp or Rwenzori view guest house

Day 12
Day 12: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After having breakfast, transfer to Murchison Falls National Park and this scenic drive will take you through savannah grasslands to the park. The lunch en-route will be in masindi after continue with the journey through karuma and arriving at the park in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge, Pakuba Safari Lodge or Red Chili Rest Camp.

Day 13
Day 13: Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Wake up have a very early morning coffee then head to a morning game drive where you will see some of the big five including lions, buffaloes, leopards, elephants. Antelopes, water bucks, Jackson hartebeest, jackals and giraffes are common sight. The morning game drive will give you a chance to spot the nocturnal animals and the hunters before they return to their hideouts as well as the early risers. After the game drive, you will head to you lodge for breakfast.

In the afternoon after lunch, you will go for the boat cruise on the Victoria Nile which is the high spot in this park to view lots of wildlife species at a close and clear range. Some of the wildlife that you will spot on a boat cruise include the school of hippos, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes and many other that come to drink water refreshing themselves off the scorching sun and also to enjoy fresh grass along the banks of the river in the afternoon however you will also spot reptiles like the Nile crocodiles and also a number of bird spices. The boat goes to the base of Murchison falls and here you get a chance to see the lovely and powerful falls in the world. You can either choose to hike to the top of the falls or not then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge, Pakuba Safari Lodge or Red Chili Rest camp

Day 14
Day 14: Air Balloon and Top of the Fall

After having breakfast, go for the air balloon safari on the Paraa side of Murchison falls national park. Paraa lodge is the starting point of your balloon safari. As the balloon is being assembled, a cup of coffee or tea will be offered to the guests then later the pilot will brief you, get on board and start the journey in the air balloon. Imagine experience of observing all these animals the beautiful rivers, trees and the sun setting some meters above. The whole experience may take 45min to 1 hour exploring the park. After return to the lodge for refreshment and lunch. In the afternoon, go for a boat cruise to the base where water squeezes itself through a small gorge exploding to create what has been called the strongest waterfall on the earth. Then hike to the top of the fall later retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge, Pakuba Safari Lodge or Red Chili Rest Camp

Day 16
Day 15: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

After having breakfast in the morning, transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park of which the journey takes like 10-12 hours. The whole journey goes through the kitigum and later to kidepo. The drive will continue through the open grasslands on the way from Murchison falls district to gulu town. The lunch en-route will be in gulu then proceed to the park. Dinner and overnight will be served at; Apoka safari lodge, Kidepo Savannah Lodge or Apoka Rest Camp

Day 17
Day 16: Game Drive and cultural encounter

After having breakfast, embark on an early morning game drive along kidepo trails. Kidepo national park harbors a great diversity of wildlife species than any other parks in Uganda. The park has 80 mammal species recorded and the 28 are only found in this park. The game drive enables travelers to meet the carnivore species such as caracal, cheetah, hunting dog, bat-eared fox, striped hyena, aardwolf and many others. Some of the other wildlife to encounter on a game drive include elephants, burchell’s zebra, bush pigs, warthog, Rothschild giraffe, Cape buffalo, eland, defassa water buck and many other. Return to the lodge for refreshment and lunch.

In the afternoon, go for a cultural encounter of which you experience the life of the karamojongs the local people living around the park. This activity expose travelers to the unique traditional dances such as the emuya of the naporre, apiti dances of the acholi and many others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Apoka safari lodge, Kidepo savannah lodge or Apoka rest camp

Day 18
Day 17: Hike Mount Morungole

After having breakfast, go for a hike to mountain morungole with the packed lunch. Where the native karimojong are known to be flourishing. The native karimojong are famously known to be the original inhabitants of the area before they were forced to the mountains by the coming of the pastoralist groups. The climb is rewarding as you will be fortunate to see the remarkable views of karamoja plains and south Sudan Mountains. After return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Apoka Safari Lodge, Kidepo Savannah Lodge or Apoka Rest Camp

Day 19
Day 18: Transfer to Sipi Falls and have a Game Drive at Pianupe Game Reserve.

After the breakfast, embark on transfer to sipi falls from kidepo valley national park in the eastern Uganda. On the way, you will enjoy a game drive in the famous pianupe game reserve for the opportunity to sight more species of wildlife such as leopards, wildcats, primates, buffaloes and many others. Later go to the lodge for lunch and retire for the whole evening. Dinner and overnight at the lodge at Sipi River Lodge, Lacam lodge or The crown’s nest camp site

Day 20
Day 19: Hike Sipi Falls

After having breakfast, embark on the hike to the sipi falls. The hike is rewarding with impressive views of the calming water and landscapes including the farmland of the bagisu. After the hike go back to the lodge for lunch and retire for the whole evening at the lodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge at; Sipi River Lodge, Lacam lodge or The crown’s nest camp site.

Day 21
Day 20: Transfer to Jinja and Boat Cruise

Wake up for a hearty breakfast and then transfer to Jinja. The drive takes you through Busembatia and Iganga to Jinja and have lunch at the lodge and in the afternoon, go for a boat cruise on the mighty source of the Nile which is tranquil place dotted with beautiful tropical plants, palm trees and magnificent white roaring water of the might Nile. The boat does not only reward you with incredible views of the fishermen throwing nets but also to the point where the might river Nile starts its wonderful long journey to the Mediterranean sea in Egypt. After that memorable experience, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Jinja Nile Resort, Kingfisher Safari Resort or Nile Hotel Jinja.

Day 22
Day 21: Transfer to Kampala

After having breakfast, transfer to Kampala. The drive will take you through the small towns like Mukono, where you will encounter the Sezibwa falls one of the famous Buganda heritage sites where many locals flock for blessings, wealth, and fortunes. Have a stopover in Mabira forest to explore the only forest reserve in Uganda with over 300 bird species and some primates and butterflies. Have lunch in Kampala then after be dropped at the hotel or the airport.
