Overview

The 4 days safaris to Lake Mburo national park features wild game viewing, birding, walking safari and boat cruise all in one destination.

Lake Mburo national park is one of the smallest parks in Uganda and also one of the parks that can be accessed easily from Kampala. This park features the magical savannah grass and woodland with much acacia trees.

It also has a wetland system that includes five lakes with Lake Mburo being the largest and completely inside the park boundaries. This safari allows travelers to reach in every corner of this park.

Day 1
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park

The driver/guide will pick you from the hotel and embark on a transfer to south western direction of the country to Lake Mburo national park which is about 3-4 hours’ drive from the capital city Kampala.

The first stopover will be at the equator in Kayabwe. The equator is a point that divides the earth into two equal hemispheres, the northern and southern spheres. Proceed to the park, check in and have lunch at the lodge and enjoy the evening while sighting seeing the park’s landscape and the vegetation.

Day 2
Day 2: Game Walk and Boat Cruise

After having breakfast, go for a morning game walk which commences at Rwonyo tourism center at 7am. During this activity, an armed guide is assigned to the travelers to escort them throughout the entire walk.

A wide range of wild game is explored including Giraffes, water bucks, zebras, antelopes and many others on foot. You walk in the savanna as you sight see the sun rising over it, creating a memorable experience.

Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, go for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. This activity will enable you view numerous water animals reptiles which include the crocodile, hippos plus verdant birds.

Day 3
Day 3: Game Drive and Cultural Tour

After having breakfast, go for sun rise game drive and sight a variety of wildlife like antelopes, Zebras, buffaloes, hippos, sitatunga, olive baboons, side striped jackal, leopards, and white tailed mongoose, among others.

Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, go for a cultural tour in the Nshenyi area. The cultural tour allows you to know more about the cattle’s that is to say keeping, grazing and the benefits. The highlights of the cultural tour involves witnessing how milk is extracted from the udders of the cows and how ghee is made.

The cultural tour enables you to see how the Bahima community set up their homesteads by enjoying a village walk. Dinner will be served at the lodge.

Day 4
Day 4: Transfer to Kampala
